About Tier IV
Tier IV is a deep tech company with a mission of "creation and destruction". We lead the development of the world's first open source autonomous driving OS, "Autoware", and aim to build an ecosystem where various organizations and individuals can contribute to the development of autonomous driving technology. We position this as "democratization of autonomous driving technology" and aim to realize a society where people around the world can enjoy new time and space. Specifically, we are engaged in the development of autonomous driving systems, the provision of autonomous driving EVs through a subscription model, and businesses related to unmanned logistics and passenger services using autonomous driving EVs.

*The organization that was mainly dealing with academic research couldn't handle it because the evaluation from the autonomous driving industry was too good?
So, as a private company (for profit?), Newcomers are more likely to use free than existing companies was established, but there were governance issues, so the software was transferred to the Autoware Foundation.
